ZEBRALUTION – a leading digital distributor for audiobooks, independent music and podcasts – will introduce two new audiobook services at London Book Fair 2019, 12th-14thMarch. They will then be presented to local publishers at book fairs in Paris (Salon du Livre de Paris) and Leipzig, Germany (Leipziger Buchmesse) in the following week.
ZEBRALUTION will introduce its new service, Audiobook Analytics; a B2B service that gives publishers access to in-depth analysis of their audiobook streaming audience. Publishers can use the tool to see the total number of streams and unique listeners for their complete catalogue, including their different imprints, individual authors, narrators and titles. Furthermore, Audiobook Analyticsgives a uniquely detailed breakdown of listener age groups, sex, city/region, device type and operating system.
By using the Audiobook Analytics tool, publishers can see exactly where and when their audiobooks are being listened to and identify target group patterns that will help them optimize their digital content and distribution strategies.
Audiobook Analytics will be freely available to all ZEBRALUTION distribution clients and contains daily updates from Spotify, with data from other services including Napster, Deezer, Apple Music, Apple Books and YouTube Music to be added in future versions.
ZEBRALUTION will also introduce their Alexa skill, SPOOKS – Discover Audiobooks; a B2C service that lets users discover and play audiobooks from their smart speaker.
Activated with the simple voice command “Alexa, start Spooks”, users of the SPOOKS skill will connect their Spotify Premium account to the skill and be able to interact with audiobooks using only their voice. Listeners can search for audiobook titles in Spotify by author name, narrator or title, access a list of recently listened audiobooks to continue their listeningsession, or get recommendations for newly available titles in Spotify.
Upon launch, ZEBRALUTION´s SPOOKS editorial team will curate a selection of three new titles each week in the four genre categories Crime, Fiction, Sci-Fi and Non-Fiction. Users can choose to hear a short sample from the original audiobook, let Alexa read the description or blurb of the audiobook, or start the playback of the audiobook from Spotify right away.
The German version of the SPOOKS – Discover Audiobooks skill is already available for free to all users of the Amazon Alexa platform, with the English version to be released imminently. To listen to complete audiobooks from Spotify, a Spotify premium account is required. Future versions of the service are planned to both be available for other voice platforms including Google Home and allow connections to other streaming services.
